Mr. Kearns was born in Cabel, West Virginia on October 11, 1959, the son of the late Louis Burton Kearns and Bernice Eugena (Mobley) Kearns.

His 14' Ford Mustang GT was his pride and joy. Duane was a musician and enjoyed playing the drums. He loved traveling to the beach, especially Nags Head, where he and his wife, Marilyn, were married on September 16, 2017. Duane enjoyed hiking with his dogs, "Seapo" and "Bean", and the companionship of his cats "Sunny" and "Skittles". He will be remembered as an avid military history buff, a handyman, and most importantly, a loving husband.
