Dreame Leigh (Thompson) Nycum, 80, of Baldwin Park, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at her residence.
Mrs. Nycum was born on August 24, 1943 in Augusta County, Virginia to the late George "Eddie" Thompson and Nell (Farrish) Thompson.
She was married to her late husband, Harold Bernard "Ikey" Nycum for 51 years.
After attending business school, Dreame worked in various secretarial positions. Before retirement, she was the secretary for Calvary Assembly of God Church in Staunton for 8 years where she was also a faithful tithing member for 40+ years. She loved her church and her church family very much.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Nycum was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Johnson.
Dreame is survived by her sister, Faye Acord; a brother-in-law, Daily Johnson; three nephews, Andrew Johnson, Curtis Johnson (Buffy) and Mat Acord; great nieces and nephew, Justin, Morgan J., Brooke, Deidre, and Madison "The Baby". The rest of her family, that she loved dearly, she gained from her husband which includes four nieces, Glenna Lawhorn, Beverly Davidson, Judy Davis (Wayne), and Brenda Nycum; three nephews, Harold Wayne Nycum (Hilda), Larry Dean Nycum, Sr. (Darlene), and David G. Fridley (Diane); great nieces and nephews Michael, Ginger, Nick, Sheila, Brandy, Morgan K., Leslie, Joshua and Jamie.
Up until her death she still talked about her 80th birthday celebration where her family came together to honor her life and show their love to her.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Nick Nycum and Pastor Kevin Persinger with special music by pianist, Orville Bame. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Craigsville Community Memorial Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Andrew Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Mat Acord, Michael Davis, Jeff Jennings, and Garrett Jennings.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
