Douglas Dell Withers's Obituary
Douglas Dell Withers, Jr., 89, formerly of Hearthstone Lane, Mt. Solon, passed away, Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Brightview at Baldwin Park.
Douglas was born September 25, 1923 in Roanoke, a son of the late Douglas Dell Withers, Sr. and Dorothy (Cure) Withers.
Mr. Withers was in the United States Air Force during WWII. He was an avid antique collector and enjoyed reading and history.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Withers was preceded in death by a brother, John C. Withers.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are LuDean (Wingo) Withers of Staunton his sister-in-law; a niece, Dell (Withers) Taylor and her husband Ken of Natural Bridge; two nephews, John W. Withers and his wife Diane of Swoope and Dean W. Withers and his wife Kim of Timberville; two great nephews, Jason Withers and his wife Krista and Jeremy Withers; four great nieces, Ashley (Withers) Lamay and her husband Daniel, Meredith Withers, Sarah Didawick and Courtney Fitzgerald and her husband Justin; a great-great niece, Emma Lamay and a great-great nephew, John Fitzgerald.
All services are private.
