Douglas Edward Doug Knight, 69, husband of Tammy Susan (Riley) Knight, of 4002 Little Calf Pasture Hwy, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Knight was born on April 16, 1946 in Craigsville, Virginia a son of the late William Davis and Rebecca (Helms) Knight.
Doug was retired after 30 years of service at Wayn-Tex as a Loom Fixer and prior to Wayn-Tex he was employed by Daniel Motor Company and Stillwater Mills. Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, camping, spending time with his family, and especially riding his grandson Colby Buckwheat on his tractor.
In addition to his parents Mr. Knight was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lee Knight and a sister, Nancy Tubbs.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 32 years is a son, Lewis Knight of Staunton; two daughters, Victoria R. Knight and her fianc Jason Waggy at home and Amanda Adkins and her husband Terry of Craigsville; a sister, Hilda K. Nycum and her husband Harold of Stuarts Draft; five grandchildren, Colby Edward Knight, Lauren Knight, Taylor Knight, Sierra Adkins and T.J. Adkins; four nephews, William Bill Martin, Danny Martin, Timmy Martin and Tracy Martin and three nieces, Deborah Phillips, Janice Moyer and Pam Jamison also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John M. Ward.
Burial will be private.
