Dorval Dennis Banks, 87, of Staunton, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Mr. Banks was born in Creek County, Oklahoma on May 27, 1935 to the late Dennis Waddell Banks and Gladys Emma (Davis) Banks.

Dorval is survived by his wife, Kathleen Keller Banks; a daughter, Elizabeth Cochran (Banks) Lobb; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn G. Lobb; a grandson, William F. Lobb, Jr.; and a sister, Sylvia (Banks) Hill. He was predeceased by a brother, Marvin Charles Banks and a sister, Faye (Banks) Bell.

Dorval opened Plaza Florist and Gift Shop in Staunton Plaza, was part of the crew that moved the buildings comprising the American Farm from Botetourt County, VA to the Frontier Culture Museum, and taught Earth Science for many years in the Staunton and Augusta County Public Schools. He enjoyed woodworking, basket making, and loved to travel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dorval will be missed by many.
