Dorothy Virginia (Sensabaugh) Humphries, 77, wife of Hansford Turtle Humphries, of 746 Middlebrook Road, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Humphries was born on June 25, 1939 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Fred M. and Agnes (Campbell) Sensabaugh.
Mrs. Humphries was a member of Staunton Church of the Brethren. She was a loving homemaker and cared deeply for the needs of her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by a brother, Everette Sensabaugh and two sisters, Madaline Duff and Donna Hensley.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 61 years are three sons, Keith E. Humphries and Trent D. Humphries both of Staunton and Eric B. Humphries of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Melvin Sensabaugh of Middlebrook and Alfred Sensabaugh of Raphine; three sisters, Mary Carpenter of Verona, Agnes Lotts of Goshen and Juanita Layton of Rocky Mount, VA; two grandsons, Damon Humphries and his fiance Jessica Lotts and Shawn Humphries and his fiance Jeanie Painter; three great grandchildren, Hayden Humphries, Darren Humphries and Eva Humphries; three step great grandchildren, Annie Ewell, MaryBryd Pettenati and Logan Lotts and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 in Augusta Memorial Park with a memorial to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Staunton Church of the Brethren by Pastor Scott Duffey.
Active pallbearers will be Eric B. Humphries, Trent D. Humphries, Shawn Humphries, Damon Humphries, Otis Carpenter, Jr. and Alan Cale.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Humphries and Farron Sherrill.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
