Dorothy Madeline (Sass) Macy, 85, widow of Charles F. Macy, Sr. of 33 Bentley Circle, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Macy was born on June 8, 1932 in Randolph, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Lawrence O. and Florence (Ayers) Sass.
Dorothy retired from Ben Franklin Craft Store where she was employed as a floral designer and she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and all types of crafts.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Macy was preceded in death by her husband Charles Macy of sixty-seven years who passed away on June 1, 2016.
Surviving is a son, Charles F. Macy, Jr. of Florida; four daughters, Susan M. Belsky and her husband Harold of Stuarts Draft, Dorothy A. Sarofeen and her husband Peter of Massachusetts, Jean Marie Bellinger and her husband Brent of South Carolina, and Maureen Macy of Florida; a brother, George Sass of Massachusetts; three sisters, Florence Seyfert and Ruth Schneider both of Massachusetts and Mary Flueckiger of Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. William Bill Trice. The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will follow at a later date in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
