Our Mom, the most loving person we know, Dorothy "Dotty" J. Tisdale, went home to be with Jesus and her long awaited heavenly home on November 15, 2021.
Mom was born March 20, 1937 in Middlebrook, Va. to the late Irvine Daniel and Pauline Marion (Britt) Tankesley.
She was predeceased by her husband , Maynard Tisdale, her loving brothers, Alfred "Dutch", Richard, Shelton "Sugar\u0027 and one step-sister, Frances.
Left to cherish her precious memories are a sister, Joan Balser, her children, Terry (Suzanne), Danny Hevener (Penny Rolon),Timmy Hevener, Vivian (Barry) Salwen and a very special niece Debbie Tankesley. Four step-children, Jerry (Teresa) Tisdale, Rena Thomas, Roger (Kathy) Tisdale, Jan (Kevin) Quinn, and "loved like her daughter", June Jennings.
Mom was employed by Western State hospital for 28 years until retirement.
To continue spreading the love, she had fun delivering flowers for Rask florist, driving the bus for Valley Aging services, volunteering at "Make Today Count" and involved in Hospice care.
Mom loved Jesus and she lead with love in all her actions. Her passion was always caring for and loving others. Mom gave the best hugs and wanted everyone to feel loved, she was a great listener and always ready to lend a hand. A humble and faithful servant of the Lord.
Mom\u0027s dearest friend, Daisy Vernon, departed for heaven last year. Her closest friends include Bonnie Wimer, Jacque Wilson and Judy Camden, Pastors August and Shirley Lupino.
Family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday November 19, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home in Staunton.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton.
Pallbearers will be Jerry and Roger Tisdale, Jeff Vernon, D.W Carter, Tracy Carter and Jimmy Fitzgerald.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
