Dorothy Mae (Clark) Sprouse, 75, wife of Sylvester Williamson Red Sprouse went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 26, 2017 at her residence in Staunton, VA.
Mrs. Sprouse was born on May 22, 1941 in Amherst County, Virginia a daughter of the late Ellis B. and Lillie Z. (Wood) Clark.
Dorothy was beloved by everyone who knew her. A devout Christian, wife, and mother, she had a nurturing, servants heart. For many years Dorothy served the Lord through nursing home ministry, prison ministry, teaching Missionettes, and leading childrens church. Her main ministry was always to her family first, whom she cared for deeply. A strong prayer warrior, her legacy of faith will live on in eternity through her many, faithful prayers.
Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty-four years, are her children, Barbara Shaw, Darla Hake, and Ricky Sprouse. Dorothys eight grandchildren, Stephanie Park, Cory Smith, Kayla Hart, Matthew Sprouse, Kristina Shaw, Ethan Smith, Eric Sprouse, and Kyle Shaw, also survive her. The family would like to extend special thanks to her close friend and caregiver, Pat Hassan.
Her family will receive friends and relatives for a viewing on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory located at 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, VA 24401.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Billy J. Curry.
The burial will follow the service in Oaklawn Mausoleum.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Cory Smith, Ethan Smith, Matthew Sprouse, Eric Sprouse, Kyle Shaw, and friend of the family, James Callison.
Condolences may be expressed to the family through cards and flowers received at the viewing and Celebration of Life service.
