Dorothea E. Shipp
Dorothea Elizabeth (Buckwell) Shipp, 95, of 111 North Campus Lane, Fishersville and formerly of Waynesboro, passed away Saturday evening, (August 15, 2009) in the Shenandoah Hospice House.
Mrs. Shipp was born in Kingston-On-Thames, England on November 8, 1913 a daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Buckwell.
Dorothea moved to the Shenandoah Hospice House from Waynesboro when declining health no longer allowed her to care for herself.
She was a self-employed publisher for many companies including the New York Times and the Washington Post.
In keeping with Mrs. Shipps wishes and request, her body will be cremated and interred with her husband Mr. John C.K. Shipp.
Burial will be private and conducted by the family.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
