Doris Marie (Ingram) Piner, 84, wife of Floyd Franklin Piner, of Churchville, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026 at her residence.
Mrs. Piner was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia on June 23, 1941 a daughter of the late James Henry Ingram and Rosie Vedella (Farber) Ingram.
Doris was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church.
She retired from Augusta County School System as a cafeteria worker, she enjoyed cooking, caring for foster children, being outside and her animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Lester Franklin Piner; a great-grandson, Toby Eugene Puckett; two brothers, Marvin Ingram and Donald Ingram; and three sisters, Margie Shifflett, Hazel Hazelwood, and Lois Ingram.
Surviving in addition to her husband of seventy years is a son, Ronnie Lee Piner and friend, Karen Cason; two daughters, Brenda Truslow of Staunton and Anna Grant and husband, Shawn of Headwaters; a half-brother, Bobby McCallister; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Lester Kennedy.
Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
The family would like to express a sincere “Thank You” to Robin Hamilton, William and Kathy Campbell, and Linda Acord for all their care and support shown to Doris.
