Doris Jane "Dot" (Hatter) Davis, 82, wife of Seth Thomas Davis, Sr., of 1422 Hermitage Road in Waynesboro, Virginia, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Davis was born in Bramwell, West Virginia on June 28, 1940, a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Mary Ethel Jane (Allen) Hatter.

Dot was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church.  She was a school bus driver for the Augusta County School System for forty-three years, and prior to that was employed with General Electric. She loved music and enjoyed joining in congregational singing during worship. She loved roses, her family and was a gifted cook.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by two brothers, George G. Hatter and Stanley Hatter; and four sisters, Margie L. Lang, Ellen R. Martin, Maude L. Bowman-Rogers, and Elizabeth R. Moses.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of sixty years, is a son, Seth Thomas Davis, II and his wife Tiffany of Waynesboro; a daughter, Kimberley K. Mace and her husband Troy of Mint Spring; two brothers, Herbert A. Hatter of Troy, NY and Jack W. Hatter of Princeton, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Bethany Heatwole and her husband Trenton, Savannah Davis, and Hannah Meekins and her husband Matthew; and a great-grandson, Otis Leon Heatwole.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church by Pastor Bill Davis.

Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
