Doris H. Cooper

Doris Agnes (Harris) Cooper, 74, of 371 Fort Defiance Road passed away Wednesday, 15 June 2011, at her residence.
Doris was born 26 September 1936 in Staunton, VA. She is the widow of Jack L. Cooper and daughter of the late John Garber and Marie Quick (Ruebush) Harris.
Doris Cooper retired from Genesco-L-Grief Company where she
worked as a seamstress for forty-one years. Doris is an active member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church.
Doris will always be remembered as a provider, an astounding cook, a woman with the purest of hearts, and a person who always put others needs before her own.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Lois Wilfong, Patsy McCray and Daisy Wood.
Doris is survived by her son Clarence L. Cooper and his wife Margie, her daughter Diane Cook, her brother Paul J. Harris and his wife June, her grandchildren B.J. Biller and Cherokee Williams, two step-grandchildren, Michael Melton and Barbara Brown, three great-grandchildren, Thomas Williams, Trystan and Levi Biller, step-great-granddaughter Taylor Brown, a number of nieces and nephews and a very close family friend John Lanham.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted Saturday, 18 June 2011 at
3:00 p.m. held by Rev. John Crawford, III at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church followed by burial in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Clarence Cooper, Diane Cook, B.J. Biller, Michael Melton, Tommy Rohr, Clint Williams, Bradley Faulk and Grayson Wood.
The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home \u0026 Crematory and other times at the residence of Doris Cooper.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 230 Frontier Drive is in charge of her arrangements.
