Donato Aloyisus Cacciapaglia, 86, of 105 Holland Circle, and formerly of Staunton, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Cacciapaglia was born on February 1, 1932 in Staunton, a son of the late Oronzo and Camilla (Terlizzi) Cacciapaglia.
Donato was an active and faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, he was retired from the United States Air Force Reserves, and Smith's Transfer with 32 years of service as a Traffic Analyst. "Don" was a very loyal member of the "Coffee Club" at Kathy's Restaurant, and he enjoyed walking in Gypsy Hill Park.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James "Jim" Cacciapalgia and John Cacciapaglia.
Surviving is a daughter, Angela L. Cacciapaglia, with whom he made his home; a son, David Cacciapaglia both of Waynesboro; three sisters, Rose Casson and Josephine King, both of Staunton, and Louise Bowers and her husband Raymond of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Brian Cacciapaglia, Erica Cacciapaglia, Justin Hodgin, and Jonas Hodgin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Father Joseph Wamala.
Burial will be private in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
