June 1, 1939 – November 10, 2022
Donald Burton Robertson, 83, widower of Virgie "Patty" Marie (Sprouse) Robertson, of Augusta Springs, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Robertson was born in Craigsville, Virginia on June 1, 1939, a son of the late Haskel Cleveland Robertson and Mary (Doyle) Robertson.
Donald attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church and retired from Dupont after thirty years of service. He enjoyed hunting, watching western movies, and visiting his friends as he made his rounds around Craigsville. Donald was an avid Yankee fan, enjoyed traveling with his wife and loved working in his yard.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by three brothers, Burnett Robertson, Kenneth Robertson, and Larry Robertson; three sisters, Beatrice Welcher, Stella Glover and Pluma Wilkerson; and a nephew, Ronald Welcher.
Surviving, are three daughters, Lisa Sterrett and her husband Madison of Staunton, Vonda Puckett and her husband Kevin of Craigsville, and Cindi Miller and her husband Chris of Swoope; two sisters, Betty Hammer of Staunton, and Lina Harper and her husband Bob of Fishersville; eight grandchildren, Travis Harris and his wife Brooke, Kristin James and her husband Michael, Kaitlynn Puckett, Brooke Wooton and her husband Russell, Kyle Puckett, Hunter Puckett, Britani Knopp and her husband Zach, and Adam Miller and his wife Katie; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dave Boger. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum.
Friends may visit the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Chris Miller at 1548 Glebe School Road, Swoope, VA 24479.
Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Travis Harris, Adam Miller, Kyle Puckett, Hunter Puckett, Zach Knopp, Michael James and Russell Wooton.
Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters.
It is suggested, that those desiring make memorial contributions to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 31, Swoope, VA 24479.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
