Obituary

Donald Lee Don Hall, 84, widower of Frances (Hemp) Hall of 210 Hamrick Street, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Hall was born on December 29, 1931 in Martinsburg, WVA, a son of the late Fred S. and Edith (Symons) Hall.
Don was in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was retired from Genicom where he was employed as a draftsman/engineer and later retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia where he was employed as a correctional officer. For seventeen years, he was employed by VSDB as a security officer. Mr. Hall was a leader and served in many capacities with the Boy Scouts of America and the VFW.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a son, Craig Hall; a brother, Freddie Hall and a son-in-law, Harry Dull.
Surviving is his first wife, Nancy (See) Hall; a daughter, Robin Rice; a son, Michael Hall and his wife Michelle; two step-daughters, Wanda Nuckoles and her husband Ronnie and Joyce Dull; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and his furry friends, dog Lilly and granddog Jake.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the VFW Post 2216, 212 Frontier Drive, Staunton and other times at his residence.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Legacy Hospice, Boy Scout Troop 122 in Hebron, VA, the School for the Deaf and Blind Foundation or the VFW Post 2216.
The family would like to express a special Thank You to Mr. Halls caregiver, Missy Carroll, the Legacy Hospice Staff, Judy Warwick, Nancy Anderson, Anita LaPorte, Amy Stacy, Murphy Terry and Pastor Steve Traylor of the First Baptist Church.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
