Donald Lee Donnie Burns, 62, husband of Edith L. Burns of 131 Hermitage Road, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Augusta Health.
Donald was born February 16, 1948 in Monterey, VA, a son of the
late Julian H. Burns, Sr. and Opal (Rexrode) Burns.
Mr. Burns was a route salesman for Dr. Pepper Bottling Company for 37 years, a member of the Verona Moose Lodge # 2172, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles # 680 and a member of the Augusta Staunton VFW Post 2216. Donnie was an U.S. Army Veteran serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict.
In addition to his wife to whom he married on September 17, 1977, survivors include a son, Justin Matthew Burns of Staunton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Katherine Louise Fields of Staunton and Tammy Lee Roadcap and her husband Tommy of Churchville; four brothers, Thomas and William Burns of Staunton, Julian H. Burns, Jr. of Covington and Steven Ray Burns of McDowell; a sister, Beverly Ann Keyser of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, E.J., Jamie and Amanda Campbell, Ella Christine Romain and Shyann and Hunter Roadcap; one great-grandson, Bo-Bo Campbell and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
All services will be private.
