Derek Grant Losh, 25, of 449 Spottswood Road passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Losh was born in Waynesboro on April 15, 1987, a son of Lennie Grant Losh and Terry (Dinkle) Johnson.
Derek was a member of West Augusta United Methodist Church and employed with B.S.C. as an equipment operator. He was a graduate of Riverheads High School class of 2004. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, the outdoors, as well as riding his motorcycle.
Surviving in addition to his father of Greenville and his mother of Staunton, is his maternal grandmother, Martha (Neff) Mitchell and her husband Johnny of Fishersville; maternal grandfather, Fred E. Dinkle and his friend Audra Kerby of Staunton; paternal grandparents Boyd T. and Anna C. Wood of West Augusta; Little Grandma, Lizzie Wood of Fishersville; step-grandfather, Kenneth Thompson of Staunton; fiance and best friend, Madeline Maddie Nolley of Spottswood; a special aunt, Whitney Swecker of Staunton and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins and his pet dogs, Def, Kawi and Gretchen.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Deb Washer and Rev. Allen George.
Burial will follow in West Augusta Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in the funeral home.
Active pallbearers are Brandon Burchette, Matt Burns, Daniel Hudnall, Chad Hudnall, Michael Wood and Pete Shiplett.
Honorary pallbearers are Justin Stone and co-workers from B.S.C.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
