Dennis Allyn "Pal" Porter, 79, husband of Phyllis (Harvey) Porter of 300 Churchville Avenue, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Porter was born on July 26, 1938 in South Haven, Michigan, a son of the late Clyde and Ruth (Rumery) Porter.
Dennis attended Verona United Methodist Church, he was a graduate of Michigan Tech as an Electrical Engineer, and was employed with Lear Jet Industries, General Electric and Dupont before retiring as a self-employed farmer.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years, is a step-son, Kenneth Nicholas and his wife Linda of Lyndhurst; a step-daughter, Linda Wiseman and her husband Robert "Bud" of Verona; a brother, W. A. Porter of Las Vegas, Nevada and a sister, Carolyn Elmer of Jackson, Michigan; four grandchildren, Andy Wiseman and his wife Amy, Rob Wiseman and his wife Stephanie, Jeff Wiseman and his wife Jolene and Judson Nicholas and his wife Sara; five great-grandchildren, Drew, Luke, Amanda, Logan, and Bobby; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. William "Bill" Trice.
