Dennis E. James
WAYNESBORO:
Dennis Edward D.J. James, 56, husband of Robbin Marie (Moon) James of 409 Lombardy Circle went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family Sunday, March 6, 2011 in the University of Virginia Hospital.
Mr. James was born October 2, 1954 in Waynesboro, son of Paul Samuel and Dorothy Louise (Wheeler) James.
Mr. James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Halcie James and his maternal grandparents, James and Margaret Wheeler.
Dennis was employed for twenty-two years as a truck driver for Hathaway Paper until he retired in 2008 due to his health. He was a member of the Edward Avenue Baptist Church, he enjoyed playing golf, loved spending time with his family and joking around with his many friends.
In addition to his parents of Waynesboro and his wife of thirty-five years, D.J. is survived by a son, Jason Patrick James of Greenville; a daughter, Amanda Niccole (James) Wiseman of Waynesboro; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathy Hyden and her husband Jerry and Vickie Fitzgerald and her husband Carl, all of Stuarts Draft, Lesa Snelson and her husband Davey and Sherrie Lowe all of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Bonnie James, Brandon James, Reilly Shiflett, Cheyenne Bishop and Madison Shiflett; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in Edward Avenue Baptist Church, Waynesboro by Pastor Gary May.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the residence.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
