Delbert Mac Stover McQuain, 80, of 12 Kasey Lee Drive passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at Augusta Health Center.
He was born April 11, 1930 in Pendleton County, West Virginia a son of the late John Oscar and Mary Ethel (Rexrode) McQuain.
In addition to his parents Mr. McQuain was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School and was a member of Totten Chapel United Methodist Church in Moyers, West Virginia. Mr. McQuain served in the United States Air Force. He was employed by and retired from Western State Hospital after 30 years of service. He was also a member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge #1309. Mr. McQuain was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed time spent in his gardens.
Surviving is his wife Gloria McQuain of 41 years; a mother-in-law, Pauline Rankin of Staunton; a brother-in-law, Connie Rankin and his wife Jatanna of Verona; three sister-in-laws, Janet Nuckoles of Staunton, Ellen Grant and her husband Kenneth of Stuarts Draft, Brenda Whetsell and her husband Tom of Mt. Olive, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 22, 2011 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mae Reeder.
Burial will follow in the Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers are Marvin Moran, Meade Shuey, Delmer Rexrode, Danny Smith, Ray Pitensbarger, and Earl McCray.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral home.
