Deborah Lynn "Debbie" (Bowen) Thompson, 65, of Lee Jackson Highway, Greenville, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at her residence, after a long, hard fought battle with COPD and its complications.
Ms. Thompson was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia on May 25, 1956, a daughter of the late Walter Bowen, Jr. and Dorothy (Wright) Bowen.
Debbie worked as an Electronic Specialist at Montgomery Ward. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. Debbie was a lover of cats and enjoyed crafting and working on C.B. radios.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Louise Bowen; a nephew, Preston Lee Bowen and her pet cat, Lucky.
Ms. Thompson is survived by a son, Joseph "Matt" Blackwell and wife Michelle of Augusta County; two sisters, Sharon Crummett and husband Marshall Boyd of Fishersville, and Joyce Mitchell of Staunton; three grandchildren, Trista Demoranville, Hayleigh Blackwell, Hunter Blackwell; two great- grandsons, Wyatt and Kaden Demoranville; special cousin, Patty Wright; nephew, T.J. Crummett; niece, Heather Katsma; and special friends, Sheila Powers, Donna Tisdale, and Polly Wease.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
The family requests that masks or face coverings be worn.
Active Pallbearers are Chuck Bowen, T.J. Crummett, Bryan Lynch, Miguel Gomez, Paul Frampton, Justin Demoranville, Dennis Grimm, Mike Thompson and Brandon Powers.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
