Deana Renee Chestnut, 59 of Sumac Avenue, Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.

Deana was born in Staunton, Virginia on July 3, 1964, a daughter of the late Nelson Ray and Joy Leigh (Sivley) Chestnut.

She attended Bethany Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. Deana was employed by Shenandoah Awards and Apparel.

Deana is survived by her son, Dakota L. Riley of Waynesboro; a sister, Dawn (Chestnut) Atkins and her husband Thomas of Staunton; 2 nieces, Jennifer Leech and Amber Pullin; former husband and father of her son, Chester Lee Riley; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and her pet cat "Kiki".

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in the Mountain Grove Cemetery in Warm Springs by Reverend William "Bill" Trice.

The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to Rob Stenzel and her work family at Shenandoah Awards and Apparel for all of their love and support during Deana's illness.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
