(Day) Leach
March 23, 1945 – August 13, 2025

Davie Linda (Day) Leach, 80, of Staunton, wife of William Darell Leach, Jr., ended her journey in this world on August 13, 2025, at Shenandoah House in Fishersville.
She was predeceased by her parents, George L. Day and Eunice B. Blackwell, stepfather, Floyd B. Blackwell, grandparents H.W. and Alma Botkin, with whom she spent her early years, maternal sisters, Debbie Blackwell and Brenda B. Miller, brothers-in-law, Thomas Miller and John Summers, Jr., and paternal brother, Paul Day; as well as Darell's parents, Juanita F. Shields and W.D. (Bill) Leach,, Sr., and the father of her children, M. Thomas Brown.
In addition to her husband of 40 years, she is survived by her son, Thomas Blake Brown, Ruther Glen, VA and daughter Lisa B. Root, Stuarts Draft. Nan/Nanny was blessed with five extraordinary grandchildren, K. Logan Root, Staunton, Kailee Root (Clay), Afton, MacKenzie O'Neill, MO, Regan Brown (Dana) and Catherine Brown both of Ruther Glen, VA, "bonus" granddaughter, Maddi Root and several great-grandchildren.
Davie leaves her maternal sister, Catherine B. Summers, two paternal sisters, Peggy Lopez (Marcos), and Julieann Najar (Joe), brothers-in-law, Donnie Leach and David Leach (Annie), sisters-in-law, Dawn Stinnett and Dana Stanley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She also leaves her "family in heart", the C.M. Brown family, special friends and loved ones including Leach relatives all over the country.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastors Luke Smith and Larry Strickler.
The family extends their appreciation to Dr. Rob Marsh and the Augusta Hospice of the Shenandoah, especially Ashlie Koiner, Brianna Botkin and Melissa Crosby.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Augusta Health Foundation, c/o Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, Virginia 22939.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
