David Wark Swaim, 81, husband of Joyce Ann (Shifflet) Swaim, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Mr. Swaim was born in Washington, D.C. on June 8, 1944, a son of the late Frank Hutson Swaim and Phyllis Cullen (Wark) Swaim.

David retired from Dominion Power as a lineman and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, boating, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Swaim was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Ida (Pence) Swaim and a step-daughter, Crystal (Cash) Bottone.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 26 years, is a son, Karl David Swaim and his wife, Denice of Staunton; a daughter, Tammy Lee Swaim of Staunton; a sister, Gayle (Swaim) Hancock and her husband, Kent of MD; two grandchildren, Ryan and Samantha Swaim; a step-granddaughter, Rachael Bottone; and a special family friend, Sallie Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
