David "Troy" Souza, 51, of Staunton, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Troy was born in Newport News, Virginia on June 29, 1971, the son of Wanda Lee Shafer and the late, Gerald David Holland, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his adoptive father, the late Michael Leroy Souza.

Troy loved his family, enjoyed the beach, photography, traveling, attending concerts and festivals and shopping at Walmart.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, Wanda Lee (Shafer) Souza, is his longtime girlfriend, Denise Marie Mutherspaw; his son, Devon Troy Souza (Grace); two grandchildren, Emalynn Grace Souza and Robert Scott Souza; two brothers, Michael Anthony Souza and Gerald "Joey" David Holland, Jr. (Karen) ; two sisters, Cherice Micheal Souza and Jenny Marie Holland; a niece, Madison Shae Fitzgerald; three nephews, Aiden Lee Knott, Thomas Jonathan Holland and William Michael Holland; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Waynesboro Moose Lodge, 481 Hopeman Parkway, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
