David Michael Simmons, 61, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Mr. Simmons was born in Staunton, Virginia on September 18, 1961, a son of Louise Virginia (Hite) Simmons and the late David Henry Simmons.

David was a truck driver and enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his father, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, David Waylon Simmons; a daughter, Crystal Bennett; five grandchildren, Hunter, Zach, Caleb, Ethan, and Brianna; and a sister, Donna Lambert.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 in Old Providence ARP Church Cemetery.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
