David Mitchell Rudiak, 78, of Wheat Street, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his residence following a long courageous struggle with congestive heart failure.
David was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on January 12, 1943, a son of the late Mitchell and Marianne (Ligas) Rudiak.
He was a 1963 graduate of University of Pittsburgh, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the rank of 1st Lieutenant and was retired from the City of Staunton as a computer technician in the Water Department. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Waynesboro where David sang in the choir, he enjoyed doo-wop music, he enjoyed playing the piano and bowling.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rudiak was preceded in death by a sister, Maureen R. Aguiton.
He is survived by his loving companion of twenty years Barbara D. Wright; a son, Andrew D. Rudiak and his wife Aurelie; three grandchildren, LucieLou, Valentino and Lenny; a sister, Michele A. Hebert and husband Gary of South Miami, Florida; a niece, Dana H. Berro and her husband Josh of Aspen, Colorado; and a nephew, Joel Aguiton of North Vancouver, BC.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Waynesboro.
