David E. Ross, 76, passed on to a better place on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 following a lengthy illness.

Born in San Francisco, he lived most of his life in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area before moving to Augusta County, Virginia in 1997. His career was spent in the aerospace industry where he was a talented model maker and machinist who earned the respect of both his co-workers and clients. His work provided the opportunity for travel to a number of interesting cities both in the U.S. and overseas. David enjoyed shooting archery, and was an avid car enthusiast who together with his son Jason restored a 1955 Thunderbird during his retirement years. A passionate animal lover, over the years he cared not only for his dogs but also the wild birds, squirrels, and even the mice that nested in his garage.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy; his devoted son Jason Ross and his wife Sherri; his grandchildren, Ashley and Elijah; his great grandchild, Emily; his sister, Nancy Crockett; his brothers, Steven Ross and Robert Ross; and sisters/ brothers-in-law as well as nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
