avid Glen Ralston, 62, widower of Charlotte Rebecca (Cupp) Ralston of 2757 Spring Hill Road, Staunton passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 in the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
Mr. Ralston was born June 11, 1949 in Staunton, a son of the late Frank Tyler Ralston, Jr. and Beatrice Gray (Swearingen) Ralston.
Mr. Ralston was a retired building inspector for Fauquier County, was a self-employed contractor and master plumber. He was member of the Lebanon Church of the Brethren, the Spring Hill Ruritans and he loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by a son, John Paul Ralston.
Survivors include two daughters, Melissa F. Griffin and her husband Darrell of Swoope and Rebecca D. Keyser and her husband Grant of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Brittany N. Ralston, Dakota Ralston, Bethany Keyser, Charlotte Keyser, Destiny Keyser, Sarah D. Mullins, Alan D. Mullins, Jr. and Katie Griffin; three brothers, Robert H. Ralston and Frank T. Ralston, III both of Staunton and Forrest M. Ralston of Lyndhurst; a sister, Donna G. Davis of Lyndhurst; and number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 in the Lebanon Church of the Brethren by Pastor Joel E. Ballew.
Burial will follow in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Ralston, G.W. Obaugh, Darrell Griffin, Chris Glover, Kent Burtner, Eugene Botkin and Donald Flory.
In lieu of flowers it is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Memorial Trust for Dakota Ralston, c/o Melissa F. Griffin, 621 Old Parkersburg Turnpike, Swoope, VA 24479.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
