Obituary

David John Pederson, 67, husband of Lucy Ann (Peters) Pederson of 230 Old Parkersburg Turnpike passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at his residence.
David was born on December 6, 1948 in New Richmond, Wisconsin, a son of the late Amos I. and Katheryn (Sweenby) Pederson.
Mr. Pederson graduated from New Richmond High School and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and was a veteran of the United States Army. Following a twenty year career at the Bank of Somerset, Somerset, WI and a move to Virginia, he worked fifteen years as a social worker for the Shenandoah Valley Social Services, retiring in 2014. David cherished spending time with his wife and children, as well as his pets. He was forever a lover of animals and the outdoors. He enjoyed setting off fireworks, sweet tea, RC Cola, seeing things he planted grow and bloom, laughing at his own jokes, taking day-trips with his family and giving people nicknames. He was honest, hardworking and cared deeply for those he considered close. Mr. Pederson never forgot the lakes and rivers of Wisconsin, and he loved the people and the mountains of Virginia.
Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-three years are two daughters, Kristin Ann Pederson and her husband Peter Zalewski of Brooklyn, NY and JoEllen G. Pederson and her friend, Phillip Poplin of Farmville; his siblings, Amos P. Pederson and his wife Joyce of Hudson, WI, Mary Lee Noden of Ithaca, NY, and Richard T. Pederson and his wife Linda of New Richmond, WI; and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
