David Emmett Clark, 95, of 2004 Third Street, Staunton, beloved Husband, Uncle and Friend, peacefully passed to join the rest of his immediate family in Heaven on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 6:52 am.

He was born, July 22, 1929, in Augusta Springs to the late Irvin Wesley Clark and Mildred (Jackson) Clark Poindexter.  He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, which concluded with an Honorable Discharge on October 1, 1952.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his spouse of 41 years, Alma Florence (Flo) Clark; his step-father, John B. Poindexter; and his four siblings, James I. (Bill) Clark, Albert L. (Jim) Clark, Bobby W. Clark and Barbara A. (Sissy) Clark Tutwiler.

Those left to cherish his memories include one sister-in-law, Betty L. Clark; three nieces and four nephews; companion Pat Shifflett; and special friend Caroline Woebke.

Known by so many for years as "Uncle Dave" (whether you were family or not), David jokingly told people he would live to be 110.  Even in his final days at Augusta Health, he would inquire with nurses as to who were the oldest patients on the floor, sometimes disappointed to find that he was in third or fourth place for the day at the ripe old age of 95.  David was always quick to attempt to make people smile or laugh no matter what the situation may be.  He was very compassionate and offered himself to help others as best he could for neighbors and good friends, many of which could be found throughout the East Coast from New York to Florida.  He loved going to yard sales.  Many may remember him as the owner and operator of Mint Spring Gulf in the 1970's and 80's.

Burial will be private.
