David Wade Chandler, 53, husband of Kim (Collie) Chandler, of 37 Maury Mill Road, Verona, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.
Mr. Chandler was born October 2, 1960 in Staunton, a son of the late Wade and Ruth Emily (Wheeler) Chandler.
David attended Verona United Methodist Church, he was employed by Daikin (formerly McQuay) as a material handler, he was a graduate of Lee High School, and a former member of Augusta Archers Club. He loved hunting, gardening and enjoyed martial arts. He was very artistic and loved painting and drawing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Chandler was predeceased by a sister Merita Powers Fletcher.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 32 years, is a son, Travis W. Chandler and a daughter, Gena M. Chandler, both at home; two sisters, Thelma Davis and husband William of Staunton and Scherrie Ramsey and husband David of Richmond; his mother-in-law, Barbara Collie of Verona; a sister-in-law, Pam Davis and husband Tracey of Staunton and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Verona United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bob Weeks and Rev. Ed Pruitt, Sr.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church and at the residence at other times.
Active pallbearers will be Steven Davis, Alex Davis, D. J. Humphries, Travis Chandler, Kessy Cash, Kevin Koles, Gene Potter and Mike Wiseman.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Verona Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 187, Verona, VA. 24482.
