Darlene Celeste (Rankin) Lane, 59, of Redbud Hollow Lane, Staunton, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021.

Ms. Lane was born in Staunton, Virginia on August 12, 1961, the loving daughter of the late Charlene (Nolen) Rankin Doyle and Harold R. Rankin.

Darlene was a private duty nurse, who loved taking care of the elderly and all those that needed care. She loved the beach, animals, and had a very free-spirited soul.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Lane was preceded in death by two sisters, Crystal Rankin and Michelle Olson and step-father, Billy Doyle.

She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie R. Blankenship; a son, Jeffrey Simmons; and ex-husband, Timothy Lane; five grandbabies, Ashton, Nolan, Grant, Ryan, Talon, and soon to be here Chase; seven siblings, Eddie Rankin, Rudy Rankin, George Rankin, Joyce Hale, Allen Rankin, William Rankin, and Michael Olson; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Stephanie's home located at 449 North Bath Avenue, Waynesboro.
