Darlene Mary (Thompson) Johnson, 63, formerly of Reservoir Street, Waynesboro passed away Thursday, (December 24, 2009) in the Augusta Nursing \u0026 Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Johnson was born July 23, 1946 in Lebanon, New Hampshire, a daughter of the late Sherm John and Genette G. (Cheney) Thompson.
Darlene enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family and others. She was genuinely concerned with the welfare of others and did what she could to offer her support in times of need.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded by her husband, Clarence Daniel Johnson and a sister, Janice S. Hudson.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy K. Clark of Staunton and Anita F. Key and her husband Gerald B. of Waynesboro; four brothers and two sisters-in law, Richard S. Thompson of McDowell, Wayne H. Thompson of Churchville, Aron K. Thompson and his wife Karen of Stuarts Draft and C. Bruce Thompson and his wife Lisa of Staunton; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine S. Arehart and her husband, Tony of Stuarts Draft; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends this evening, December 27, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the White Hill Church of the Brethren or at the residence of her brother and sister-in-law, Aron and Karen Thompson, 7 Twin Hill Road, Stuarts Draft.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 in the White Hill Church of the Brethren by Rev. David Chappell.
