Daniel Ray Simmons, 28, of 83 Rock Mountain Lane, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017.
Mr. Simmons was born on July 17, 1989 in Charlottesville, Virginia, a son of Everett Boyd and Rachel Madeline (Kidd) Simmons.
Daniel attended Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, graduated from Fort Defiance High School, Valley Technical Center, and was employed by Design Electric Company as foreman since 2008. He collected Bushcraft Survival Gear and his dream was to hike the Appalachian Trail next year. He spent his spare time making knives and fishing rods.
In addition to his parents of Crimora, he is survived by a brother, Brian E. Simmons of Waynesboro; a very special friend, Christopher, "he called his little brother"; a cousin, Cheryl Lozkance of South Carolina; and a number of extended family and friends.
A Memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bill Watson and Pastor Paul LePrevotte.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
