Dallas Lee VanLear, 76, husband of Mary (Karr)
VanLear of 7 Cline Lane passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. VanLear was born March 27, 1936 in Augusta County, VA, a son of the late Dallas Arnold and Bertha (Wagner) VanLear.
Mr. VanLear retired in 2002 from DuPont after forty-one years of service as an electrician, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Verona United Methodist Church. Dallas enjoyed collecting and repairing antique clocks, coached little league baseball, was past president of VCA and the Augusta Babe Ruth Leagues. Dallas also enjoyed Hobby Farming.
In addition to his parents, Mr. VanLear was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl A. VanLear and Clyde VanLear and a sister, Polly A. Bennett.
In addition to his wife of fifty-three years, survivors include two sons, Dallas A. Dicky VanLear, II and his wife Pam S. and G. Scott VanLear and his wife Heather all of Verona; a sister, Jean Fulton and her husband Bud of Bridgewater; four grandchildren, D. Lee VanLear, II, Kyle VanLear, Scott VanLear, Jr. and Jenny VanLear.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012 in the Verona United Methodist Church by Pastor Robert J. Weeks.
Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Jones, Jerry VanLear, Eric Coiner, David VanLear, Gerald Fulton, Kenny Fulton, Don Fulton, and Arthur VanLear.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and former co-workers.
The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory or the residence at other times.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
