Obituary

Dallas DeWayne Selmon, 68, of Raphine, Va

Dallas lost his battle with the cancers that had stolen his livelihood for the past several years, it was in the early afternoon of December 8 th surrounded by his children and loved ones in his home.

He had worked hard his whole life to be self-sustained as the owner of his own construction business, later helping his brother moving and setting mobile homes.

Dallas was an outdoorsman and always wanted to be in the woods, where it was "peaceful". Very much enjoyed his home away from home in the mountains of Monterey, close to his birthplace and where he would have loved to call "home"! He lived the simple life and that was good enough for him. He had ice-blue eyes and a kind smile that everyone remembered, always willing to give the shirt off his back to those in need.

He leaves behind, his longtime fiancé, Kay Wheeler, who he shared a lifetime of love and memories with!

Dallas is also survived by his children; Shasta Weeks, her husband Aaron, of Waynesboro and their children Ethan & Aidan Thomas and Arvis Weeks; Jesse Selmon and wife Nina, of Raphine and their children Bridget Henderson, Christopher Thomas, Zachary Selmon & Bella Thomas; Betty Jo Wheeler, of Waynesboro and her son Curtis Wimer & Tammy Wigglesworth, of Staunton and her children Hunter Castle and Desmond Terrell. He also leaves behind many great-grandchildren and special nieces and nephews that were close to him.

He had too many special people in his life to mention them all!

He was one of 8 boys born to Leatha & Nathan Selmon and is survived by; Ralph and his wife Sudie, of West Virginia; Donald Selmon of Stoney Creek; Andrew Selmon of Staunton, Ronald Selmon of New Hope, and David Selmon of Staunton.

Preceded in death was brothers, Gay Selmon of Monterey, Aggie Selmon of New Hope (Sonny), and his ex-wife Rebecca Balin, with whom he had a special bond.
