Connie Denise (Chittum) Reider, 62, of 279 Fillmore Street, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her residence.
Ms. Reider was born on August 27, 1955 in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Lacy Oscar and Gracie E. (Cash) Chittum.
Ms. Reider enjoyed watching Destiny Family Center on-line and she retired due to health issues from Hershey Company. Connie enjoyed visiting Smith Mountain Lake, spending time with her family and camping.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Reider was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Pauline Chandler and Elizabeth Crickenberger; and a granddaughter, Kassi Blackwell.
Survivors include two sons, J. W. Blackwell, Jr and wife Debra and Chancy Blackwell and companion Alita Stinnett both of Staunton; two grandchildren, Kristina Callison and Nikolas Blackwell; two brothers, Marshall Chittum and wife Patty of Waynesboro and Jerry Chittum and wife Kathleen of Stuarts Draft; three sisters, Beulah Cash of Staunton, Luella Shuey of Waynesboro and Alice C. Huffman and husband Benny of Staunton; the father of her children, John William Blackwell, Sr., and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018
in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro by Pastor Doug Brooks.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Shane Fitzgerald, Kenny Waitier, Travis Davis, Tracy Crickenberger, and Randy Eye.
