Clyde Ray Sweet, 61, of Staunton, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mr. Sweet was born in Staunton, Virginia on June 11, 1964, a son of Doris Ann (Fitzgerald) Sweet and the late Clyde Glossburner Sweet.

Clyde was a pawnbroker by trade and an avid knife collector who took great pride in his collection.

In addition to his father, Mr. Sweet was preceded in death by an infant sister, Janet Lynn Sweet.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Staunton; is a brother, Alan J. Sweet and wife, Shannon Skeens-Sweet; and a host of friends.

In accordance with Clyde’s wishes, services will be private.

It is suggested those desiring may make memorial contributions to UVA Health Foundation, P.O. Box 37963, Boone, Iowa 50037, designating the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
