Clyde Oliver Reese, 73, husband of Callie (Whitt) Reese of Greenville passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Reese was born February 15, 1939 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late William B. and Emma (Norcross) Reese.
Clyde was a heavy equipment operator for H. C. Eavers \u0026 Sons Excavating.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Campbell, and three brothers Bill Reese, Harry Reese and Fred Norcross.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Gary Oliver Reese and wife Tammy of Staunton and Donald Blair Reese and wife Jennifer of Greenville; five brothers Wayne Reese, Donnie Reese and Eugene Reese of Raphine, David Reese and Luther Reese of Greenville; a sister Jane Perry of Raphine; two granddaughters Nikkie Reese and Elizabeth Reese; two great grandsons Ryan Reese and Zackary Reese; a number of step grandchildren; and special friends Guy and Judy Eavers, Milton Paxton, and Diane Deacon.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in Old Providence ARP Church Cemetery in Steeles Tavern, by Pastor Bill Harris.
The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at his residence.
Active pallbearers will be Steve Guffey, Jeff Guffey, Eugene Reese, Keith Reese, Buzzy Reese, Buzzy Perry, Mike Grant and Ed Guffey.
It is suggested those desiring to make memorial contributions to Old Providence ARP Church, 1005 Spottswood Road, Steeles Tavern, VA 24476.
