Clyde Nelson Mace, Sr., 90, of Staunton passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Mace Sr. was born on September 22, 1929 in Bath County, a son of the late Clyde H. and Ida Mae (Grimm) Mace.

Clyde was a self-employed painter.

Surviving are two sons, Nelson Mace of Staunton and Clyde Mace, Jr. of Florida; two daughters, Rose Lane and Brenda Place of Tennessee; two step-sons, Charlie Wheeler and wife Pam of Staunton and Jimmy Wheeler and wife Rachel of Swoope; brother, Donald Mace of West Virginia; his friend and companion, Mary Long; a number of grandchildren, including Ashton Mace; and a number of great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no services.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
