Clifford Wayne "Cliff" Hoover, 67, husband of Joyce "Joy" (Western) Hoover, of 42 Old Laurel Hill Road, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Hoover was born on January 25, 1952 in Staunton, a son of the late Kyle Hunter and Lila (Neff) Hoover.
Cliff was a member of the Laurel Hill Baptist Church, a lifetime member of Verona Volunteer Fire Department, Verona Ruritan Club, and WoodmenLife Chapter 167. He was retired from Plygem / Alcoa, he enjoyed hunting and was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by two brothers; three sisters; and father-in-law, Homer Miller Western.
Surviving in addition to his wife of nineteen years, is a son, Chris W. Hoover and his wife Monica of Weyers Cave; a step-son, Eric D. Tanks and his wife Amber of Staunton; five grandchildren, Arianna Hoover, Dylon Hoover, Austin Eagle, Jackson Tanks, and Isaac Tanks; a sister, Mildred Burns of Staunton; mother-in-law, Phyllis (Nuckoles) Western of Verona; former daughter-in-law and friend, Anne Lynch of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church by Pastors Bill Davis and Glenn Kurtz.
Burial will be private prior to the service.
