Cletis Rex Ruley, Jr., 80, husband of Josephine (McCray) Ruley of 96 Riverside Avenue passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Ruley was born in Rockbridge County on February 25, 1934, a son of the late Cletis Rex, Sr. and Margaret (Karr) Ruley Ingram.
Cletis was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and was retired from Genesco Company as a material handler. He enjoyed fishing, camping and helping other people.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ruley was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Ruley; two brothers, Calvin E. Ruley and Richard L. Ingram and two sisters, Shirley A. McCray and Lorraine M. Adkins.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years are two daughters, Sandra M. Ruley of Staunton and Brenda K. Ruley of Verona; a brother, Roger Ruley and his wife Audrey and Violet Campbell and her husband Oscar, all of Churchville; two grandchildren, Christopher Wayne Sarver and Joleda Nicole Sarver and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and the residence at other times.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery by Hospice Chaplain Mark Westebbe.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
