Claude Morrison Poole, 84, widower of Helen (Sensabaugh) Poole, of Staunton passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Poole was born on August 6, 1931 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late James Arlyn and Hallie (Swisher) Poole.
Claude was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Walkers Creek and was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Staunton Moose, he enjoyed spending time at Smith Mountain Lake fishing and boating, he also enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife.
Mr. Poole is survived by a brother, Wallace Wally Poole and his wife Juanita of Raphine; two nieces, Cathy Bartley and her husband Eddie and Tami Bird and her husband Paul, III, who were like his own; special neighbors, Steve and Chris Wimer, George and Tina Bartley, Brian Reubush and Stacey Diefenderfer;
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Immanuel Presbyterian Church at Walkers Creek by Pastor JoAnn Bunn and Mr. Harold Wingate.
Burial will follow in the Immanuel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be George Bartley, Paul Bird IV, Heather Bartley, Steve Wimer, Michael Rexrode, David Hemp, Nelson Croushorn and Hunter Bartley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Beth Bartley, Tara Bird, Tina Bartley and Chris Wimer.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 3844 Walkers Creek Road, Middlebrook, VA 24459.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
