Claude E. Fox

Claude Edward FOX Fox, 84, widower of Mae (Sheets) Fox of 810 Adams Street, Staunton, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.
Mr. Fox was born August 16, 1927 in Hume, Virginia, a son of the late Owen Thomas and Nora (Davis) Fox.
Prior to his retiring from Yancey Lumber Company as a mechanic, Mr. Fox was retired from Smiths Transfer and from driving a school bus for the Augusta County School System. Mr. Fox was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force and the Teamsters Local #29. He enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, reading and he loved to tinker. Claude was known as a Jack of all Trades.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers Owen Fox and William Fox.
Survivors include two sons, John Fox and Steve Bosserman and his wife Debbie; a daughter Patsy Blackwell and her husband Eddie, all of Staunton; two sisters; Mary McNeal of Baltimore, MD. and Bessie Embry of Bealeton, VA; seven grandchildren, Brandy Knight, Matt Bosserman, Erin Blackwell, Jessica Fox, Ian Fox, Anna Fox and William Fox; seven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011 in Augusta Memorial Park by Rev. Temple D. Meyers.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Sheets, Burt Clark, Dick Yancey, Jesus Chavez, Dale Black and Stevie Knight.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law Patsy and Eddie Blackwell of 908 Crestwood Drive, Staunton or the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Debbie Bosserman of 1208 Spaulding Street, Staunton.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the S.P.C.A, 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of his arrangements.
