Claude Richard "Dick" Zullig, 78, husband of Linda (Gutshall) Zullig formerly of Galena Road, Staunton, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at his residence at Stuarts Draft Retirement Community.
Mr. Zullig was born on September 4, 1940 in Washington, DC, a son of the late Claude Governor and Ophelia (Baum) Zullig.
Mr. Zullig was a member of the Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Lutheran's Men's Group, and Teamsters Local #29. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, worked for McQuay for eight years and was previously employed by Smith's Transfer for twenty years as a dock worker. Dick enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf, hunting, fishing, and riding horses.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Zullig was preceded in death by a brother, Dwayne Anthony Zullig.
Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-six years, are two sons, Richard Dean Zullig and his wife Alyssa of Stuarts Draft and David Shannon Zullig and his wife Dulaney of Staunton; three grandchildren, Justin Zullig and his wife Rebecca, Nathan Zullig, and Dylan Campbell; a sister, Donna Fulton of
Newport News; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in the Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Derek Boggs.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be private in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
