Clarence G. Clark, Sr.

WAYNESBORO:

Clarence Gleason Clark, Sr., 77 of 1640 New Hope Road, Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, (January 1, 2009) in the Augusta Medical Center.
Mr. Clark was born on May 27, 1931 in Rockbridge County a son of the late Wildridge Alexander and Rosa Mayberry (Wood) Clark.
Clarence was raised by his mother and she was his hero, she taught him the principals of life and Gods Holy word.
Prior to retiring, Clarence was a truck driver for Allied Ready Mix Concrete and Sidney Morris Excavating and Gravel. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and attended the Freewill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Waynesboro.
Mr. Clark is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Clarence G. C.G., Jr. and his wife Marie Clark of Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Joseph T. Clark of Brandon, Fla. and Willie J. Clark and his wife Toby Ann of Staunton; three sisters, Pauline Ward of Lake Monticello, Margie T. Zawhorodny of Swoope and Thelma F. Wiseman of Crimora; two grandchildren, Joey and Lauren Clark; two step-grandchildren, Kyle and Nicole and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Active pallbearers will be Derek and Kevin Clark, Roy Wood, Sheldon and Donnie Ward, Steve Zawhorodny, Roy Shifflett and Floyd Root.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dave and Thomas Jarvis, Dr. John Kern, Dr. Merritt, Dr. Brayndtz, Dr. John Leiner, Dr. Julie, and two of his favorite Home Health Nurses, Myria and Joanna.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, (January 4, 2009) in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Brother Peter Grimm.
Burial will follow in the Irish Creek Community Cemetery in Rockbridge County.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of the arrangements.
