Christopher James Chris Franklin, 37, of Staunton, passed away
Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Franklin was born on December 2, 1977 in Charlottesville, a son of Rose Marie (Mills) Smith and James Edward Franklin, Sr.
Chris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was active in various groups. He was employed with Heath Consultants as a meter reader, he enjoyed music and was an avid Denver Broncos Fan.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Staunton and his father of Roseland, is a daughter, Ceauna Jae Franklin and her mother, Shanna Davis of Staunton; step-father, Larry Smith of Staunton; two brothers, Rev. Mark J. Mills and his wife Esther of Ruckersville and James Franklin, Jr. and his wife Tiffany of Alexandria; a sister, Shea F. Miller of Roseland; paternal grandmother, Margaret Franklin of Rochelle; and a step-brother, Darren Smith of TX; best friend, Kenny Arkward of Staunton; and a host of other relatives and friends, also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Mark J. Mills.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be private at a later date.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
