Obituary

Charles Casper Wimer, 76, husband of Geneva Vivian (Reid) Wimer of 354 Linden Drive, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 in Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation in Staunton.
Mr. Wimer was born on January 29, 1940 in Churchville, Virginia, a son of the late Alvinzie Morgan, Sr. and Helen Virginia Catherine (Jack) Wimer.
Charles was a member of Linden Heights Baptist Church where he was a member of the Job Sunday School Class. Mr. Wimer was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 40 years of service and he enjoyed his outdoor and garden work.
In addition to his parents Mr. Wimer was preceded in death by four brothers, Boyd Hale Wimer, Reid Wimer, Harry Wimer and Al Wimer, Jr.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 46 years is a son, Dwayne A. Wimer and his wife Sheila; a daughter, Susan D. Dull all of Staunton; two brothers, LeRoy Wimer and his wife Lois of Waynesboro and Warren Wimer of Staunton; a sister, Judith Strickler of Staunton; eleven grandchildren, Chris Wimer and his wife Becky, Brian Cason, Amanda Varner, Charles Cason, Matthew Wimer and his wife Casey, Keith Dull, Josh Wimer and his wife Samantha Ringgold, Lauren Wimer, Erica Wimer, Tyler Dull and Kyle Taylor; twelve great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 in Linden Heights Baptist Church by Pastor Luke Smith and Pastor David Anderson.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Josh Wimer, David Wimer, Brian Cason, Charles Cason, Keith Dull, Tyler Dull, Kyle Dull, Tracy Richmond and Eddie Rogerfield.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Job Sunday School Class.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to Linden Heights Baptist Church, c/o The Building Fund, 371 Linden Drive, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
